GameWorks Chesapeake is seeking a Director of Sales who enjoys creating moments of joy for our guests.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, energetic, positive and organized.

The Director of Sales reports directly to the General Manager and supports the operations of the sales and events office. This role will be responsible for both sales and administrative duties such as, but not limited to networking, answering phones, preparing proposals and contracts, updating banquet event orders for all departments, event prep, outside sales, trade shows, social media and cold/warm sales calls.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure inquiries and leads are responded to in an enthusiastic and timely manner.
  • Solicit new business through outside sales, networking, and cold calling.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with guests, managers and team members.
  • Meet with guests for site tours and appointments.
  • Greet guests during their in-house event.
  • Create banquet event orders, update kitchen menus, confirm details with clients and close out events.
  • Promote venue specials and answer event inquiries on the various social media platforms (FB, IG, Twitter).
  • Maintain a filing system and sales records, correspondence and other miscellaneous items.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure events are correctly prepared and executed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Previous event sales experience NOT required, we will train the right candidate.
  • Background in hospitality and/or retail preferred.
  • Detail oriented, organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Social media knowledge.
  • Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, but weekend availability is required as business demands.

This position has the potential to increase to something more robust in the near future, all based on your motivation and drive for sales.
